W*ORT — a space for words, W*ORT — ein Ort rund ums Wort

W*ORT, a space for words, creative writing, and much more in the heart of Lustenau/Austria opens it’s gate. Since 2013 we have been developing this new location. W*ORT will be a centre of creative writing. It will be run as a nonprofit organisation by a public and private partnership. Aside from the interior design, workshop-area with a letter press, a café and a space for lots of activities, we also developed a brand which will accompany this exciting endeavour in the future. more

RE BOTTLE SET — NOMINATED FOR GERMAN DESIGN AWARD 2015

2012 we designed for the Austrian mineral water producer and market leader a range of container to collect PET bottles for the recyclage. The RE BOTTLE STOOL was made for collection and as a stool. The big RE BOTTLE CONTAINER as PET collecting tool for public schools and offices. Now the RE BOTTLE SET wich allows you to crate out of a used plastic bottle a small container for your desk is nominated for the Geman Design Award 2015. Wonderful!

H2O Oho! — NOMINATED FOR GERMAN DESIGN AWARD 2015

H2O Oho! is a water pourer for using with all plastic bottles. We designed the handle for the Austrian mineral water producer VÖSLAUER in 2012. The tool is handy, good looking, and very functional. Great to use for small and big hands. The WATER POURER „H2O Oho!“ it turns your mineral plastic bottle into a lovely carafe. Now we refill the bottle with champagner! The pourer is nominated for the Geman Design Award 2015. Wow!

Gürteltier — Animal Farm

Our new furniture Gürteltier from our Animal Farm Collection will be living from now on at Scheer Shoe Manufactory downtown Vienna www.scheer.at. The two furniture (one male animal in green, the female one in pink) will help to present Scheer’s newly crated Belt Collection and accessories. Shoemaker Markus Scheer, head of the manufactory, knows all about hand crafted shoes and about the power of walking. Visitors are welcome from MON–SAT. more

W*ORT — New Typography

W*ORT a new space for creative writing opens the door in July 2014 in Lustenau/Austria. Walking Chair was invited by the major Kurt Fischer to participate in the design from the beginning. One of the outcomes is the brand and the digital font. WORT means word and ORT means the place, the spot. W*ORT will be run by a public private partnership and will give the community of Lustenau a new hot spot and meeting point in the centre of the city. We are very happy to invite you to our next gallery exhibition. TOBIAS MADÖRIN, a Swiss photographer, took the picture our Walking Chair on Prater Hauptalle 10 years ago. The picture became the cover of our Vinyl production THE VOICES OF WALKING CHAIR. Now the Swiss art publisher Scheidegger & Spiess released an extract of his work. Today a picture of YOU MAY B has arrived in our studio. Mr. Norbert Diesling, Professor of Düsseldorf based Josef-Beuys-Gesamtschule, has sent us the shot. After visiting our Vienna based studio last year, Norbert proposed our multifunctional furniture to his forward-looking institution. Today two YOU MAY B furniture were set up at the school. Thank you Norbert for your picture! We all have to focus on knowledge. YOU MAY B a good teacher, YOU MAY B for education, YOU MAY B teaching for ever!

The Grand Piano Table at Scheer Schuhe, Vienna

Since December 2013 our Animal Farm Furniture is presented in the new showroom of the legendary shoe manufacturer Scheer Schuhe in the heart of Vienna and will be part of his Salon Scheer in the future. Makus Scheer the visionary owner and shoe maker knows about the power of walking and the power of making by hand Only a maximum 300 pairs of shoes are fashioned annually in his workshop. With the Grand Piano Table a range of HTLT (High Tec–Low Tec) Furniture are exhibited and will attend the upcoming Salons…

Walking Chair Gallery — Maria Volokhova

We met the russian born designer/artist Maria Volokhova in Germany 2012, when we both were selected at the exhibition 11 years of Young Design in Progress at Talents Messe Frankfurt. We fall immediately in love with her superb ceramic work and now present a selection of her art pieces for the first time in Vienna.
